WHAT TO DO WHEN WAITING ON THE PROMISE SUCKS!
We have all experienced a season of waiting. I mean we are all CURRENTLY experiencing an elongated waiting season! How does one keep their head above water when surrounded by uncertainty? The answer is short, sweet, and annoying WAAAAAIIIIIIIT!
There are certainties in the uncertainty and sometimes what we’ve been waiting for has less to do with us and more to do with the intentional timing of the LORD. The timed arrival of our blessings have a lot to do with a sequence of events and the growth points of ourselves and others.
IF you won a MILLION DOLLARS when you were 18 would you be mature enough to avoid going broke in less than a year? Maybe some of us were proficient in financial literacy, but I WOULD HAVE BEEN BROKE. My spending habits were terrible at that age, and even though I would’ve loved to have been wealthy during that time of my life I know I wasn’t prepared for the blessings I now have. There is a preparation period that cannot be ignored. So why not ask yourself “What is God preparing me for?” or even more important “Who is God preparing that is connected to my blessing?”
SO WHO IS THE HOLDUP?
Zacharias and Elisabeth were always going to have a son; however, the manifestation of that son was solely dependent upon the intentional timeline of heaven and the birth of Jesus Christ. They were beyond years and beyond faith. Both were well over 60 when they were told they would have a son. Zacharias was completely over it and argued with the Angel who delivered the word of the Lord to him. God’s plan was independent of their input and that is the part THAT SUCKS! The task that Z and E were given was to continue to have faith and even reignite the flame of faith extinguished by years of unrewarded belief. The two of them had completely different responses, which lead to different experiences, but ultimately the promises of God manifested in the proper season. John was chosen to prepare the way for Jesus (Luke 1:76-77). He was tasked to be a trailblazer for the soon-coming Messiah. It is without question that Elisabeth was never barren and Zacharias was never without legacy. John was always going to arrive.
Season and Timing
The season of our blessing is rarely independent from a prayer, prophecy, and a plan. God has a plan for all of us and there is a high chance that our blessing(s) is connected to a prayer, prophecy, or plan belonging to someone else. If I am believing for a husband it’s not just my process that needs to be considered. Whatever you are believing for has a process and development attached to it. A Delay is not God’s way of frustrating us, but it very well could be the grain of sand that is the antagonist to the oyster that develops the pearl. Have great faith and take heart! HE has not forgotten you and is not taking breaks concerning your promise. There is a prophecy that will be fulfilled, a plan that will be carried out, and a petitioned prayer that will be answered.
