The Lord has made Grave Diggers

Grave diggers are traditionally known for being a part of the final burial process, and grave robbers are traditionally known for removing and unearthing.  However, the diggers I am speaking of are ones called to remove the earth created out of doubt, religion, and legalism that have killed and buried thousands under its weight.

Could it be that all of your heartache, experiences with death, doubt, insecurities, and trauma was all for HIS Glory?  I do not mean in the sense that “everything happens for a reason” but in the greater sense that God needs a body, a willing grave digger.  Diggers that remove and not ones that bury.  I was actually in the process of writing something completely different, it was really moving and well written (so I thought) and then a simple song began to play in the background...Grave Diggers. As the song played, I saw a valley of dry bones appear and the breath of God flowing from the mouths of people were speaking breath to the bones. These dear ones were bringing the buried back to life. This is when I heard the LORD say, “Where is your shovel?”  In a single, sweet, and beautifully brief moment the Lord gave me a word that I will pour and brood over for the days to come.

We are in a time where churches are closing, people are displaced from their congregations, and now being forced to adopt virtual coverings. Could it be that these unprecedented times were created to empower and equip us, through intense intimacy with the LORD, to be Grave Diggers? Where our “Not me Lord” or “Who’s going to listen to me” has been replaced with a bold YES!A yes that can only be gained from intense moments spent in His presence where we no longer see our reflection through the dark glass of false identities. Look at the obviouschanging of the guard; what a radical move of God, to send those who were once buried under guilt, shame, the lies of the enemy, generational bondage and curses to free others. And so, I ask you what was asked of me: Where is YOUR shovel? I think it is time we remove the dirt and allow the Holy Spirit to cultivate the Ruach Hakodesh and Rhema of the Lord to give breath to bones. They are waiting. Help us to continue to affirm our YES and be shovel-ready. It is so and so it is.
