I Hear the Abundance of Rain
Deep in thought I could hear the old patriarchs singing:
“There shall be showers of Blessings send them upon us oh Lord. Grant to us now a refreshing; Come and now honor Thy Word. Showers of blessing, Showers of blessing we need; Mercy-drops round us are falling, But for the showers we plead. ”
It is said that April showers bring May flowers, but what if there were no showers, what if there was no rain. That is just what happened when Israel forsook the commandments of the Lord. They put idols in his place and thought this king (Ahab) could lead them better than their Father King. God told Elijah to give the prophetic words “No rain.” Did you hear the proclamation? 1Kings 17:1
No rain, or dew for the next few years unless Elijah commands it. Yes for 3 and ½ years no rain. No rain, no food, no livestock, no people. It was based on the people’s choices.
What choices are you making? The story of Baal’s prophets how they called and called upon their god who was on a journey, taking a nap, hard of hearing, busy, whatever the case may be , but their god did not answer. Elijah then had them put his bull sacrifice upon the rebuilt altar with wood, no fire,and had them pour water on it three times and soak the trenches. This he had them do with water they knew not where to find, but the man of God knew where the water was. Elijah prayed and fire fell and burned up all the sacrifice, burnt all the wood, all the stones, and the dust, and licked up all the water that was in the trench.
Is the fire falling in your life?
Elijah then sent his servant up the mountain to look towards the sea seven times, and on the seventh time he saw a cloud the size of a man’s hand rising out of the sea (1 Kings 18:34-46).
I hear the abundance of rain, the power of an Almighty and Powerful God, raining down His presence upon His people. “I will give my people the former and latter rain of my power and presence that gives them the ability to overcome any situation in their lives,” said the Father. “It is the joy unspeakable and full of glory presence that gives peace that surpasses all understanding. People that will say if the presence of the Lord does not go before us we won’t move.” It is the power and presence that lifts people up when they are down. I hear the abundance of rain; raining down God’s presence when sickness tries to wipe you out. I hear the abundance of rain, raining down God’s strength to run when you don’t feel like running. When your backs are up against the wall I will rain down my presence and place pillars to hold you up. You will never be alone. I hear the abundance of rain. It is time for God’s presence to rain here on earth as it is in heaven.
April brings the abundance of rain! Get ready for the former and latter rain.
Thank you Father, for the resurrection of Jesus, your presence, and your glorious power. Thank you for allowing us to hear the abundance of your rain.
