Holy Spirit: Our Heavenly Chiropractor
I’ve had a problem of standing and shifting my weight to one side. Because of this shifting, my right foot barely touches the ground. I didn’t feel the effects of this at first, but a pain in my lower back and hip started to make siting unbearable. I decided it was time to see the chiropractor. He told me that I definitely needed adjusting and realignment, and if I came in for sessions it would regulate and the pain would cease. “Stand on both feet and be sure they are firmly planted—make sure you check your posture and engage your core when standing and walking”. These instructions came to mind during my prayer time this week. I was engaging with the LORD about hearing Him in every part of my day. It was then that Holy Spirit revealed how I’d omitted Him from my life and only invited Him to weigh in on certain matters. He told me that he wanted to be consulted in every decision. Not just the big stuff but the mundane-run-of-the-mill decisions. “I want to regulate you and balance you out Kimberly. I want you to know what it is like to rest in Jesus because you let me guide you. When you let ME guide you, you no longer have to panic about if you did it the right way. I lead you into All truth. When you allow me to guide, you then see and experience life from your proper place of authority.” I was stunned because I’d been so tired trying to complete everything on my own and falling further behind. In one short prayer session Holy Spirit illuminates the truth using an experience from the past.
When Fatigued and Frustrated
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6
The word of the Lord guaranteed victory to Zeruabble with a promise that it would have nothing to do with his personal might or strength, but through the Holy Spirit. There have been many scenarios, in the Old Testament, where the Spirit of the LORD fell upon people and allowed them to do extraordinary things (outrun chariots, perform miracles, prophecy, have super strength...etc.). Unfortunately, we have modernized biblical teachings to omit the majestic nature of Holy Spirit and what He wants to do through us and with us. We spend too much of our time trying to figure out how to do things and neglect to invite our best friend who is the most effective source and investigator. He searches all things concerning God’s will for us and the DEEP THINGS OF GOD (1 Cor. 2:10). Why wouldn’t we ask guidance from the one who knows EVERYTHING and will never steer us wrong? This is why we are frustrated, uneasy, panicked, and overwhelmed.
Seek and You Will Find
To seek is to ask. Have you asked Holy Spirit what He knows about your situation? Have you asked what’s Heaven’s plan for your day/year/life?
He is longing to play the role spoken of by Jesus, who felt so strongly about the work of Holy Spirit that he made a special announcement in John 14:6 letting us know how important He is!He mentioned Holy Spirit several times to let us know that there was much more in store for us if we are up for the adventure.
I spent the rest of the week inviting Holy Spirit into every aspect of my day, and I’ve never been more productive. The alignment is happening and I cannot wait for everything in my life to come into agreement with Heaven’s plans. He is not only our comforter and Illuminator of truth, He is our heavenly chiropractor helping us stand upright. Thank you Holy Spirit.
